WHAT INSPIRED NOCT?
Noct was born out of a deep passion project to bring a more intimate experience to the metro Vancouver area. I launched Noct to share stories, explore what specialty coffee has to offer, and create an intimate experience among guests and coffee enthusiasts. We aim to leave judgement at the door, we believe that everyone has the right to enjoy what they enjoy but at Noct, let us guide you and lets have fun exploring something new!
OUR MISSION
Our vision when we started Noct was to create an intimate coffee experience where communities could gather and truly enjoy their time together, surrounded by a safe and fun environment. As we worked on Noct, we realized we could do more, fixing issues that we see in our community and industry, and strive to be 'Not your ordinary cafe'.
We strive to strengthen our community by operating with integrity at every level. We source all of our coffee through ethical, fair-trade importers to ensure farmers are paid fairly. We pay our team a living wage and operate as a no-tipping establishment, believing employees should earn a reliable income without depending on gratuities. We also prioritize purchasing from Canadian suppliers wherever possible, reflecting our commitment to being a proudly Canadian company.
We specialize in sourcing exceptional specialty-grade beans, roasting with new third wave
technology, and offering curated tasting experiences that introduce consumers to the depth and nuance of third wave coffee.
HOW WE DO BETTER
1. We are a living wage employer. We believe that our employees shouldn't depend on tips in order to make enough money to simply live. We pay our employees what the living wage is in our area to make sure that we can take care of them as well as they take care of us.
2. We are a no tipping establishment. It's our job to pay our employees not our guests.
3. We are dedicated to sourcing from reputable, fair trade green coffee importers, and local farms for our coffee and other food products needed to serve the best product possible.
4. We are a proudly Canadian business, and we aim to produce/source as much of our merchandise and supplies from local companies in Canada, or from companies who align with our vision of 'DOING BETTER'
